DSR Proudly Supports WLS’s Artfest!

DSR is honored to support Women Lawyers of Sacramento’s annual fundraising event, ArtFest!

This year’s ArtFest is a virtual event scheduled on November 13.  ArtFest will feature exhibits by local artists and a silent auction.

All proceeds from the event will be generously used to fund grants to local charitable organizations assisting women and children, as well as to award scholarships to deserving law school students.

DSR is pleased to support the Sacramento County Bar Association’s Annual Bench-Bar Reception!

This year’s event is scheduled to occur virtually via Zoom on October 29, 2020 at 6pm.  Honored as the Judge of the Year will be Sacramento County Superior Court Judge, the Honorable Stacy Boulware Eurie.  Free MCLE credit for the presentation beforehand at 4:30pm is offered with ticket purchase.

DSR IS NOW AN APPROVED MCLE PROVIDER

DSR Health Law has been approved by the State Bar of California to serve as a Multiple Activity Provider (MAP).

This means that DSR is authorized to offer and grant credit for California Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) activities.

To qualify as legal education, a program must be directly relevant to active attorneys licensed by the State Bar.  A significant portion of the program’s content must enhance the professional ability to practice law and be directly relevant to the attorney’s current knowledge of the law, including their obligations and professional standards.

As a provider, DSR offers MCLE presentations on topics such as the appellate process, credentialing and fair hearings, electronic discovery, and more.

DSR IS HONORED TO SUPPORT AHLA’S ANNUAL MEETING

DSR is proud to support the American Health Law Association (AHLA) and its Annual Meeting.

This year’s event, occurring June 29-July 1, offers the most current information and analysis on a myriad of legal issues facing the health care industry.  The program will include keynote addresses from leaders in the health industry who will discuss potential reforms to the health care system, and the educational sessions will be facilitated by legal experts, government officials, and industry regulators.

DSR ON BENDING THE COVID-19 CURVE: PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING

DSR actively supports the efforts of the state and local communities in slowing the spread of COVID-19 by practicing social distancing.  During this public health crisis, DSR remains dedicated to serving and supporting the legal needs of its valued clients and maintaining consistency in its operations, while also protecting the health and safety of the DSR team.  Accordingly, DSR attorneys and staff now work remotely.  While working remotely, the DSR team remains fully engaged and available to clients through the usual means of email and telephone.  Please stay safe and healthy.  Practice social distancing.

DSR is delighted to welcome Wendy M. Soe-McKeeman to its Health Care Team!

Wendy recently obtained her J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.

Wendy brings over 10 years of experience in state government and health policy to DSR.  Prior to joining the firm, Wendy was Vice President of State Programs for the California Association of Health Plans (CAHP) where she was responsible for executing a comprehensive advocacy strategy on behalf of managed care health plans participating in Medi-Cal and on the Covered California Health Benefit Exchange.  She also worked as Director of Regulatory Affairs at CAHP where she collaborated with a variety of stakeholders including state regulators, consumer advocates, and health care providers to represent California health plans’ interests on a broad array of Knox-Keene Act regulatory and compliance issues.

Wendy began her career at the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) in 2010.  During her tenure, she served as the Senior Advisor for Policy Development at DHCS coordinating health care reform efforts, including the State’s development and negotiation for federal approval of a multi-billion-dollar section 1115 Waiver program for Medi-Cal.
