DSR Welcomes Diana Livingston (formerly Beckett-Hile) to Its Team.
SACRAMENTO, CA. (February 1, 2017) – Diana Livingston recently joined DSR as a health care research analyst. She will assist DSR attorneys and their clients in identifying, researching, and analyzing emerging topics in the rapidly changing world of health care.
Diana is a former policy analyst for Covered California. In this role, she served as Covered California’s federal liaison during the launch of the Affordable Care Act. As a policy analyst, Diana developed familiarity with the complexities of the health care system, including the statutes and regulations that govern it.
Prior to working at Covered California, Diana worked as a research associate at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California supporting professors in the Department of National Security Affairs. Diana oversaw several trilateral conferences that brought together academics, politicians, military and security strategists from around the world, and had the unique opportunity of organizing and attending meetings with high level officials, including members of President Obama’s national security affairs team, as well as state department, and Pentagon officials in Washington, D.C.
Prior to her Naval Postgraduate School experience, Diana also worked as an investigator for the Habeas Corpus Resource Center, where she honed her research and investigation skills, assisting indigent, death row clients.
Diana earned her bachelor’s degree in U.S. History from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island and her master’s degree in international security policy from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.

The California Association of Health Plans will be holding its 31st Annual Conference from October 10-12, 2016 in Palm Desert, California. Michael J. Daponde of DSR will be speaking at the Conference as part of a panel on the topic of “Evolving Regulatory Structure and Issues for California’s Health Plans and Insurers.” Other DSR attorneys who will be attending the conference include Megan A. Rowe, David McDonough, Pamela Stone, and Eunice C. Majam-Simpson.

DSR Welcomes Heather Claus to its Team of Health Care Attorneys
SACRAMENTO, CA. (June 20, 2016) – DSR announced today that Heather Claus has joined DSR’s team of health care attorneys. Ms. Claus was previously a contracts manager in the compliance division of Central California Alliance for Health, a County Organized Health System (COHS), where she negotiated health care contracts with vendors and providers and was heavily involved in balancing the legal, business, and compliance needs of a Medi-Cal plan. Ms. Claus also has experience with provider disputes, and the application of federal and state regulations, including HIPAA, Stark, Anti-Kickback, the Sunshine Act, and the ACA.
“Heather has significant experience navigating health care delivery systems from both business and compliance perspective,” said Mike Daponde, President/CEO of DSR. “She brings a wealth of experience, especially in matters and issues that a COHS plan deals with on a daily basis. We are very excited to welcome Heather in our team.”
Ms. Claus has a diverse background in health care law, which helped in her former role, which includes preparing communications and responding to requests from the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and the Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC).

Ms. Claus earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and her juris doctorate degree from the University of San Diego School of Law.
